Getting all expansions

I am not sure if this is the right place to post this or if it is posting warez which I do not think is the case but if so please correct me and lock or delete the thread.

However I recently learned that SOE has removed the download limit restiction on the patch server. Thus making it possible to download all expansions from the patcher. All you need is the everquest.exe file, you no longer need the xpatch.exe files. Just load up the patcher and click in the avanced features all expansions. I have tested this and it works.

I dont think this would be considered warez, since its straight from the original eq patcher. But then again, im not a mod of this forum so I wouldnt know.

If they offer it with the standard patching, that can't be warez. That's using their client the way it was designed to be used...

Plus... kinda good for the people that didnt have the post luclin expansions (i.e. Me, hehe) If I asked my bro to get them for me from warez channels it probably would have taken forever.

just wondering, its not like i need that expansion or anything.

everything thru LDON can be DLed I believe. I checked them all and then hit GO!

That's kind of weird how SOE is lifting that and letting anyone who has everquest.exe or eqgame.exe or whatever download all the patches. Only thing I can think of is that someone moves and/or gets a new computer and everything is whiped out, they can just DL all of it instead of looking for CDs for hours on end?

I tested this theory by copying my everquest.exe and nothing else into a folder and started the patcher. I started the patcher then clicked cancel before it finished hit advanced checked off everything then re ran the patcher. It took 2 hours 35 minutes but I downloaded all expansions up to LDON. This included Everquest classic, ROK, SOV, SOL, POP, LOY and LDON. I got all the zones and everything. Kinda nice to be able to get a fresh copy of EQ if ya need one.

The expansions have always been downloadable upon release, when you try going into a zone you might crash and have to get your Char moved out of the zone, when purchasing an expansion you also get a specific CD-Key. The key "activates" the expansion on your account, but for EQEmu purposes, the server software doesn't check to see which ones are "activated". Without activation on live it's doubtful you'll be able to play in the new zones.

You're right that eqemu doesn't care about activation... This is just more proof that Sony barely knows we exist, or how we work.

If this does work, fine... but please dont give out everquest.exe or post 500 threads about how cool this is and how everyone can get EQ + all expansions for free just by using everquest.exe (not that i'm saying anyone is doing this yet).

Next thing we know it were going to have 4,000 new members egging every single person for everquest.exe.

I think posting the everquest.exe or links to where to download it would be considered posting warez. If you have the patcher file already then you are using their software to get the rest of their software.

hi everyone! Well, I installed the game lastnight. After it automatically dl'ed LDoN I hit "advanced" and checked all the expansions, then it started another file scan. When it finished the file scan, I got this
"Luclin not properly installed. Please reinstall the files off your CD. Planes of Power not properly installed. Please reinstall the files off your CD".
then it started dl'ing files again. I haven't found anything similar to this in the forum. Anyone know if I'll actually need the cd's or just run the patcher again? Could it be that this error appeared because I had nortan anti-virus auto-protect on?
