Free eqemu server box? (UK residents)
Hey, just ran across this site. They are giving away free PCs if you agree to watch 3 min of adverts. every hour. but (I think) if used as a server, you could probably leave it on and not even notice that the ads play. Oh well, I put my name in..http://www.metronomy.com/
EDIT: pulled a classic newb and didn't read all the terms. I'm not UK resident. :( |

 | yes, i know, iexplore.exe is the browser..
but u can still download a alt. "explorer.exe"..

and i doubt that they have the source-code to explorer
so they can fill it with ads...
so it will prolly just be a program that runs in the background
that u can crack

For them to go as far as to give away the hardware they would have a better plan than the feeble ones mentioned above. It would be really easy for them to have some custom hardware that forces the adds or even some sort of unique hardware ID that would be sent out when ever you get online and if it shows the adds not running then you pay for the PC. There are lots of clever ways to force you to recieve the adds.

If it requires input to prove that you're there, it does matter. What if you have to click "I like this" or type input like "The blue one is cool", then having it as a server is cool until they send you a bill.
