Sleeper encounter
Obviously the sleeper is no longer available on any of the live servers but what i'd like to know is, is if its possible to bring back the sleeper. I'm not quite sure if it was EthernalQuest or EqEmu that had Him and his warders active at the one point. This would be going back slightly before luclin was released if not in the begining. All in all he would be a nice boss to mess with on a server (downsize the bastards HP and deathtouch a bit so it will take a few groups at best to kill him so it remains fun and not a slaughter) Every since I started EQ when the sleeper came out he was always one of those God Bosses that it seemed noone would ever beat. even after his defeat it just left me with that WOW feeling like it took 3 hours straight just for one mob thats insane  Just a thought because most servers that are still holding the classic Norrath theme have sleepers empty or sparsly occupied with random mobs.

what servers? if there was a classic eq server you would never even get close enough to see if hes there or not. god i hate you.

S2k does have the sleeper. Hes spawned like the old Sleeper as the zone is based off the old sleeper's tomb.

Well first off, the sleeper isn't even awake yet on FV, and he has only been killed on RZ, so he is still on like.. every live server basicly.
Secondly, alot of the servers have him, just don't have the quest worked correctly, so he is never really "asleep" plus the barrier is never up, and i am not sure if you can put up a barrier yet in the eqemu without adding some special realtime zone object modifying code, preferably one that is implimented into the quest system. i am not sure if s2k has it working or not i haven't ever really played on that server.
And what fun would it be to take down his skills, and abilities? thats what made him the God mob, hell not even the Real gods take as long as he did to kill. nor did people lose as many lvls =P. Now i suppose that becuase no eqemu server will probably have enough people playing at one time to put together the 3 guild force that was on RZ when they killed him, so this could be reason to tone him down, but still, <shrug>. Also note that the 3 guilds were fully Time equiped, somthing "Classic eq" servers aren't really suppose to have yes?
But all in all, it would be nice to see a correctly set sleepers tomb with all the quests and what not, <shrug>

I suppose you could place a faulty Sleeping 'sleeper' in there (like a level 1 placeholder dude with 1 hp) and when hes awoken despawn him and replace him with the real one. Wouldn't be exactly like live but... lol.

Why not just spawn a untargetable sleeper in his bubble? why be lvl 1 and 1 hp... .. he was untargetable on live until he was awaken

He is targetable on live =P just need to position yourself in such a way that you can click on him, or if you use MQ that works too, and when he is targeted he has -40% life you just can't attack/cast on him, the problem wasn't preventing them from targeting/killing him on the emu, it was the bubble barrier preventing them from getting close enough to him while he is sleeping, on one of the non legit servers i remember walking down to him and the bubble was there, but wasn't preventing me from walking through it.. i think... hmm well that was the issue i was thinking about, but you also have to make him look dead, (hence the -40% life on live) this makes him look like he is "sleeping" i am not sure how exactly you would do this, i smell some special code .

well on emu u can make untargetable npcs...
so it really isnt an issue.
My sleepers collect has all the entrance gargoyles untargetable by default.
About the bubble thing. ya.. i don't think theres a way around that yet. Something you might be able to do, maybe put a circle of invisible mobs around his bubble. and have a pretty small aggro. so only ppl down below near the bubble would be aggroed. and give these mobs deathtouch. that would stop people from going in his bubble, eh?
The sleeping thing i havent come across that yet. It's a good question though. I know in the Celestial fists thing there's a part i read about a sleeping ogre. not sure if he was actually sleeping or standing though

even tho all live servers have "the sleeper" what is normally ment by a server having "the sleeper" is that he is not awoken yet. See when RZ (the Server) engaged the sleeper, they hadn't killed all 4 warders yet. When killing all 4 warders this awakes the Sleeper. He then goes to all the Velious zone and kills all the mobs (if not just most of them) and the ppl as well. They then engaged him after this.
Even tho my old server (MM) hadn't beaten the sleeper, MM no longer has the sleeper. He isn't an encounter anymore. Not sure if he was ever suppose to be, but for argument he isn't anymore. Once you kill all 4 warders, and the sleeper is awaken that changes the whole zone. Not only do the names of some mobs change, but the items change as well. You would then be able to kill all 4 warders instead of just 3 of them (old Sleepers tomb).

I've got alot to say about this since i'm from RZ and i was there when they killed him.
He does go through other zones killing the mobs in zones like skyshrine ect. Even if we were to recreate teh sleeper. First thing is that we dont have the amound of people even across EQEMULATOR thres rarely enough people on to get going. They had over 200+ people thre no the day. The battle too 3hours about and i think all but a couple people died.
And if we could recreate him get all the people and everything... How do you plan on killing him? Most people who play on eqemulator are new to eq or stopped playing whenever luclin came out they dont know the spells, and how the upper end game works. Alot of things are broke in eqemulator. Like spells dont stack like they should specialy hp buffs which are needed for any raid. Augments? Believe it or not but augments can make a big difference also. Thirdly What server will u find that can support 200+ people? It just wouldnt work withought peopel going LD every couple mins his DT is enough withought people doing ld u need every man. Also this was not just an old raid it was run much different and i believe u would whipe very quick because u havent thought of a good strategy to kill him. Its not easy hehe.

Just want to say, this statement makes no sense what so ever, just a few things to know about the sleeper.
1. While he is "asleep" he is at -40% hp, in theroy he should be dead. So if attacked while he was at this point it wouldn't take but one hit.
2. It is impossible to hit the sleeper or cast spells on him while he is inside his bubble, you get out of range messages.
3. While he is sleeping he is classified as a level 99 prismatic dragon. However when he is awakened he is classified as a lvl 70 lava dragon. If you on any server and find the sleeper either in ST or SS you will find that he is a level 70 dragon.
4. If you ask any of the ppl on RZ who use MQ and were in the fight they will tell you he is a level 70 mob, not a level 99. But the level 70 version doesn't pop unless all 4 warders are dead.
So all in all, It would have been impossible for them to even engage him. And even more so, you said they engaged him after he had finished his cycle through velious and was back in ST.
With that out of the way
I have to agree with Monalin, there would be no way to recreate this process with the amount of ppl who play the emu, there infact would be no reason for it, they already proved that one he could be killed (Took away his god like lore) and that he dropped nothing =P so recreating this process would be pointless, and most likley the only ones to play it would be the serverops who create custom gear that lets them hit for 1231231231231312312313231231312312 per hit.

That statement was ment about them never waking him previously. Until the day they fought the sleeper, they still had the Old Sleepers tomb (the zone).
The statment about them engaging him after he finished his cycle through Velious and back to ST was just a guess. It was my understanding from when After-Life tried this back in the day, that The sleeper does a Zone-wide DT then leaves the zone to rampage threw Velious.
