What happened to SWGE?

hey all,
I was just poking around, looking through the forums and i noticed swge... the star wars galaxies emulator. i mean sure, it sounds like a cool idea, but alot of people are pretty pissed about swg... it did suck pretty loudly, but it would be fun to play it for free, just to muck around and not have to pay for a piece of crap game.
anywho, i have been looking around for this project, but i only found one mention of it. anyways, thanks.
