There was a single instance of a drive-by download attempt. That Whenusearch crap. I know exactly what's on my computer at all times, my friend, it was not on my end.

Hey, I don't mind the ads. I told you that I can tolerate that. But I will not tolerate drive-by downloaders like whenusearch, etc.

uhh, scan my computer, eh? Well, first of all, I use Ad-Aware and Hijackthis regularly, just in case, even though I do nothing that will get my computer infected. Second, I have a firewall up. Third, I keep windows patched. Fourth, where I work, I deal with adware daily. I've had to kill some rather complex things, including a virus that Norton, AVG, etc. wouldn't even see. So, don't tell me it's on my side, ok?

Going to www.google.com gets you infected as well as millions of other sites, so by serfing the internet yes you do.

As far as the attitude sorry for trying to help you, I asked on IRC and you are the only person so far that has had the issue of something trying to DL.

But you dont want to hear that so ill shut up and go on my own way, once again sorry for trying to help I figured you were asking whats up because you wanted to know not cause you wanted to bash people for trying to help.

I've gotten something like whenusearch. Doesn't bug me however, just gotta click no when it asks if I want to download and run the activex control. Really shouldnt be anything to stop comming here about. As for adaware on my computer, other than a couple of small tracking cookies nothing else. I think its clocksync that keeps popping up for me.. Will edit this when I get it again.

Uh-huh. www.google.com will infect me, eh? At the most, there are a few cookies that'd be downloaded. Whoopty do! Who cares about cookies? I have cookies disabled. So what? They're not going to be causing the pop-ups, I will tell you that. I know what is on my computer, and I know what I saw. Ok? I refuse to visit a site that uses drive-by downloads... which are the cause of the adware fiasco in the first place. So if you'll excuse me, I'll show myself to the door.

Or, as you seem to dislike attempts of help, ignore that last post.

Jezebell....is that from LOR or some other source.

*twitches*
Did I click on the off topic forum, and make the original post with the intent of getting 'help'? No

Do I have an adware problem? No

Do I need help with this non-existant adware problem? no

Does Eqemulator.net use ads? Yes, banner ads via javascript. The particular one in question also tried to install an activex plugin hosted by WhenUsearch.

Should I have had javascript disabled? Probably, since I don't use it often anymore.
