Default Velious Textures in Luclin supported by EQW/EQEmu?

Has anyone gotten the Velious Textures working with Luclin on the emulator? I had it working fine before I quit EQ, but when I quit I deinstalled, so I have no idea whether the problem is on my side or that the emu does not properly support it. All of the eqclient.ini files are set properly, so that is not the problem. Either the armor shown is the old armor, or it shows part of the armor and then the armor is kind of half on / off the person like mesh points are defined wrong. I have no other problems in any other D3D apps, and as far as I know I'm running the same config as before. Thanks for your help.

Lon

UPDATE: I used EQ Item Editor to view the Cobalt Armor set for my warrior, which was showing up as just old blue armor. I modified the itemcolor from 3289720 (whatever that is) to 0, reloaded my server, and went back in. Guess what? Now I was viewing the Velious Armor for Cobalt! I think there's a check missing or needed somewhere to see if the user has Velious armor on, and if so then the itemcolor needs to be sent to that client as 0 instead of what's in the DB. I might be wrong, maybe something is just seriously wrong with my DB or with my config somehow, but with days of configuring I think I am on the right track. I do need to not however, that this did not fix my ranger's Forest Stalker's Armor, which was in worse shape and half the items were displaying and the other half weren't. Changing the itemcolor on those had absolutely no effect. I also changed the Warlord's Armor itemcolor to 0 and it showed up in Velious armor, but only as regular Fine Plate graphic (maybe that's what it looks like, I never had it in the real game LOL, but I could have sworn the helm was unique graphic).

works fine for me, make sure the option is set in your eqclient.

I have no other server to log into to test with, since I can't find any server other than my own that has #summonitem enabled to everyone. That would at least eliminate my database as the problem. Unfortunately I have no live account anymore so I cannot log in and test that way. Are you positive you're viewing the Velious Armor with Luclin characters on? Good example: Crustacean Shell Armor should look like shells, not plate, and should be higher resolution graphics than before Luclin patch. The more I think about it though, the more I am thinking that my MySQL Item table got screwed up somehow. There's a couple reasons I think this. For one, when I load the items in EQ Item Editor, the 'Lore' label is wrong like 90% of the time, not matching the Item's name. Secondly, The textures themselves are obviously working because I was able to modify the table itself to get some of them working without problems (Cobalt Armor set, as an example). However I have no way of testing this theory without a server to log into where I can #summonitem, or a copy of just the Item table that is 100% guaranteed working on someone else's server. The set I am using (though maybe something happened to it) is Lurker0.39 DB http://forums.eqemu.net/showthread.p...;threadid=2239.

Not by a longshot! Have you compared them? Velious textures on Luclin models are 4 times the resolution as the standard textures! I can post a comparison if you want, it's REALLY evident on plate armors.

The Lucin update should have updated those textures to the new model type on the new characters. Unless your using the old character models...

But lets take a look at your comparison and see.

I'll post them tonight between 5 and 6pm EST when I get home from work, I actually have a few SS from before I quit EQ so I can put that up too as a third pic to compare. Velious enabled vs. disabled is like night and day.

Wait wait, are you saying Luclin models have Velious Textures?

I have old models velious textures working, and with the new models, I see the same texture for ALL armor of that type. IE: Banded and Ry'gorr are both the same.

So maybe I'm a bit confused as to what you're asking.

I'm talking about the new models in general, they look like a poser modelling attempt gone wrong.

Exactly. As an example, you don't see any of the custom helmets, such as the Warlord's helm. When I enable Velious Textures on Luclin via eqclient.ini, I get either the old graphic or a garbled new one (clothing half off or missing for the chestpiece, bracers and vambraces. That's the issue I'm having now that I did not have in the real game. I'm gonna fart around with it some more tonight and I'll post my results if I can come up with anything. One thing I'd like to mention is that I think that the EQ Item Editor is not functioning properly, as items are not showing correctly for Lore, and other various discrepencies. I did change the color to 0 on a few armor types, that actually fixed my viewing Cobalt Armor with the new textures instead of the old, but it made Warlords look just like fine plate. Then when I went back into the editor again, half the values I adjusted were set back. :P

As far as I knew they never actually did make velious textures that fit the NEW models. I've never seen velious textures on new models. o.o;;

Well I went back to my old screenshots and well damnit, I guess I never did have the Velious textures on with Luclin. You'd think they'd allow it to work since there's the option in the ini file for it. :P
