Default a quick question...

Ok, I have a 4.4 eqemu server. I know how to basically use mysql after all the errors I had in the past. Now for a 5.0 server I require to make an empty database and then somehow code it to tell it to be 5.0-DR4 right? Well, Merth lost me at one point in the readme. http://everquestserver.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=9648
CVS Program I dont get at all... right about here you lose me

Setup Compiler
NOTE: This section is based on the VS.NET 2003 compiler

Go to the menu Tools/Options

In the folder pane, navigate to Projects/VC++ Directories

In the Show directories for dropdown, select "Include Files"

At the end of the list, add the following directories:
c:\mysql\include
c:\EqEmu\zlib

In the Show directories for dropdown, select "Library files"

At the end of the list, add the following directory:
c:\mysql\lib\opt

It saying that I need VS.NET 2003 compiler where do I get this at? Do I buy it, Download it, Do I have to pay for it?

CVS is a system of storing source code to coordinate among a group of people (aka devs). It is also accessable by the community (read-only). VS.NET is a compiler to create binaries from source code. If you are using Windows, you need WinCVS to pull source from the server. VS.NET is a program by Microsoft and is expensive. My suggestion would be to ask someone nicely to send you the binaries or wait for the 5.0 release.

but what is binaries
In laymans terms, binaries are the files a computer needs to run the program. Right now, 5.0 is NOT AVAILABLE in its binary (usable) form. BUT if you have the correct knowledge and software, you can create your own binaries and get a semi-complete 5.0 going. Otherwise, you need to wait until they (the ever more respectable developers) finish the 5.0 version, and release it in a usable form to the public. That way you don't have to worry about binaries, what they are, or what to do with them.

They don't have a date of the 5.0 completion (unless I somehow overlooked it while storming the boards), but from what I've read and experienced it can't be too far off.

Edit: P.S. The binary form is what you recieve from compiling the source code with Visual Studio 6.0, or .NET. I assume it's possible to have accomplished this, and still not know what binaries are. If you have compiled the 5.0 code, you HAVE the binaries. :P
