Dazed and Confused :/

I just set up a minilogin on one of my computers(which runs WinXP). I have another comp that runs on Win98. I have a router that I share my internet with. I would play both on the same server at the same time. Can I do that offline and how would I set up second comp?

Sorry if the answers are already posted. I am VERY new to all of this and its like learning another language for me:(
