Talking Unable to connect with Client - Linux Server

I have followed the two linux guides downloading, compiling installing mysql perl etc.. All of these steps are self explanatory imo.

Version info:
Ubuntu Server - 9.10
mysql - Server version 5.1.37-1ubuntu5.4
Perl - v5.8.9
Kernel vs - 2.6.31-22-generic-pae
gcc - 4.4.1
Eqemu - checked out via svn
peq db - peqdb_rev1549 - Checked out via svn as well.

It appears that the server starts fine without any errors according to my logfiles. I have two problems.

1) in eqemu_config.xml.full I have enabled port 9080 for HTTP service but
cannot connect when starting the service via my start script.
2) I cannot connect via port 5998 or 5999. I do not even see the server
listening on 5998 or 5999 via netstat command.

Can anyone shed any light on the issue as to what might be going on? I'm well versed when it comes to unix but being new to the Eqemu project and with some lacking documentation, I'm just trying to remove some of the guess work.

Any help would be much appreciated at this point.

Thanks in advance!

The server reads the config from eqemu_config.xml (no .full). The .full version is there for reference to show you all the possible configuration options.

Thank you! Works like a charm. I knew I had to be overlooking something here.

Although I am now able to login via the server list I still cannot connect via 9080. I'll look into this later

Thanks again!
