Default Server Unlisted

Hello, everyone.

I apologize if this problem has already been solved recently and understand that these questions get asked a lot, but I have searched around and been trying to get a simple private server up for the last two days.

I've used three different guides with this one getting me the farthest so far. That is, I can execute ServerStart.bat and everything seems to load up fine. After that, I launch EverQuest and login using only my username and any random password (if i've learned correctly, this is because minilogin uses only your username and IP address to determine whether or not to allow you access). Then, the problem: my server isn't listed.

eqemu_config.xml
Code:
<?xml version="1.0"?>
<server>
<world>
<shortname>Razor</shortname>
<longname>The Razor's Edge</longname>

<!-- address has to be specified for minilogin to work -->
<address>127.0.0.1</address>
<localaddress>127.0.0.1</localaddress>

<!-- Loginserver information. -->
<loginserver>
<host>127.0.0.1</host>
<port>5998</port>
<account>Kokoji</account>
<password></password>
</loginserver>

<!-- Sets the shared key used by zone/launcher to connect to world -->
<key>make up some random string of characters here</key>

<!-- Enable and set the port for the HTTP service -->
<http port="9080" enable="true" mimefile="mime.types"/>
</world>

<!-- Database configuration, replaces db.ini -->
<database>
<host>localhost</host>
<port>3306</port>
<username>root</username>
<password>**********</password>
<db>PEQ</db>
</database>
</server>
LoginServer.ini
Code:
### --- This file tells world.exe what loginserver to connect to.
### --- Leave the account and password field BLANK.

### --- Public Login is un-supported as is LAN playing. We reccomend using the EQEmu.net Loginserver ALWAYS.

### --- NOTE: Starting 6-1-2002, you can no longer use the word "Server" in worldname.
### --- NOTE2: the word "Server" is added to each server automaticly.

Yes, I have read "### --- Public Login is un-supported as is LAN playing. We reccomend using the EQEmu.net Loginserver ALWAYS.". I've tried both ways with no luck, though I may have entered the data in the wrong place. I am completely new to this and just want some help. This is going to be a completely private, LAN server that only I will be accessing.

You need to go to the main page, then to Loginserver Accounts, then down to Worldserver Accounts... there can only be 2 of those registered, so if you see 3 thats the wrong one (which is at the top, not down bottom). Register a Worldserver Account. Then you use the Login name and Password from when you registered that and you put that information into the <!-- Loginserver information. --> area. Unless you have special needs you can probably leave the <host></host> area set to localhost.

I see what you're saying, but this was supposed to be a LAN server making no outgoing connections to the internet. Can I do that, or is it impossible?

Also, thanks for answering.

This is incorrect:
Code:
<address>172.0.0.1</address>

That's a little vague, but I tried some different IPs to no avail. Can you be more specific? What should I put there?

Unless you've moved your server location to [172.0.0.1], I don't think that will work for a 'localhost' configuration

Edit: LOL! Lerxst snuck in while I was looking up that address! Change your <address> right under <longname>
in the eqemu_config.xml to 127.0.0.1

I thought 172.0.0.1 was the same as "localhost". My mistake. I think I'll try my router IP, then.

All of the rest of the entries are 127.0.0.1..only that one is incorrect. And yes, it refers to local host.

Oh, I see now. I must have been rushing because I'm having a mental breakdown trying to get this thing to work. It's fixed now, but the server still doesn't show up.
