Default best practices: instances

Proving Grounds: Mastery of Stuff

this is probably one of the more complex endeavors i've found myself working with to date and i want to make sure i cover all of my bases.

is it better to assign every client in a group/raid to an instance when a quest is selected via the starting npc, or individually, when they click on the object to zone to the instance in question? i'm trying to think of every possible scenario that the participants might find themselves in.

examples: key member going linkdead before clicking, but after quest is selected. inviting stragglers after the quest is selected and some members have already clicked in.

is there some definitive standard by which live works, or does it generally depend on the task/trial/expedition/quest/etc? has anyone found themselves in a bizarre instance situation where they think it could be handled differently (examples please)?

feedback is appreciated.

This is why live implemented the expedition system when they released GoD.

Until one of the devs can get that system online the best method is to choose a method and inform your players.

Personally I like the assign to person/group/raid at request choice.
