Default Freezing in certain zones

Certain zones like fob and cabilis and bazaar I freez and this is only on my new computer which is better than the other on. Unsure why this is happening. I have Vista could that be it or is this a known issue?

No, this is definitely the wrong section. It should have gone in the general support forum.

I don't run Vista, but I am sure there are issues with it. Probably doing a search of the forums would help track down your problem. I would try searching for the word "vista" and see what pops up. Probably alot.

Also, if you are running a dual core processor (CPU), there is a well known issue with that causing lockups and crashes. You need to set your processor affinity. A quick search of the forums would find the answer, but here is the fix:

Dual Core CPU Fix:
Dual (or Quad) Cores cause crashes, but has a simple fix.
1. Start EQEmu
2. Before logging into the login server, ATL+TAB out of the program and hit CTRL+ALT+DEL
3. Select the 'Processes' Tab
4. Find the eqgame.exe process and right click it
5. Select 'Set Affinity' and then chose CPU 0
6. Return to EQ and run like normal

Alternatively, if you are running an AMD processor, you can fix it by just installing the AMD Optimizer.
