Default Windows DEV and Linux PROD

First of all, I've missed you guys. I ran a server for about 18 months, and then got distracted by Terreria. Then a bunch of stuff happened, and now I am in a new house and at a new job. And I am ready to run an EQEmu again. It's nice to be back.

I don't know Linux but I need to learn it, so this is a good opportunity. This may be a silly question to some eyes, but here goes:
Can I develop on a Windows box and push my changes out to a Linux production box?

Or am I just talking craziness?

Other than having to compile source code changes with VS on windows and MAKE on linux, there is really no difference, the entire eqemu project is pretty much system neutral aside from compiling.
