Default How do i make custom items for a friend's server...

Hey there, title kinda says a bit about what i need help with. My buddy and i have made a server which he is hosting atm and unable to give me remote access to adjust some of the items for our server. My question is, is it possible for me to use GeorgeS tools on my machine to fix some items up for our server then send him something (if so, what would i send?) via email and he can source it into the database?

I am very ignorant to how this all works, my machine has a working copy of PEQ and my own public server i fiddled with for a while.

If anyone could explain how i could get this to work (if it's even possible) i would be very grateful. Thank you in advance.

You could actually use GeorgeS' tools from your computer to directly connect to his database and edit them without having to send him anything. He would just have to create you an account in his respective database editor, whether it be Navicat or HeidiSQL, there are several guides on how to create users that can be found on the internet, he can limit it your IP as well. Once this is done you can modify the .ini file used for GeorgeS' tools to his database, IP, username, and password. If I confused you even more, just tell me, I can explain it better and take screenshots and show you what I'm talking about, if necessary.

You can actually use EoC - it has far more flexibility and features currently with an Item Editor.

Information on getting started with this is all here:

http://www.eqemulator.org/forums/showthread.php?t=36662

All you need to do is provide DB info to the EoC that EoC can see over the internet and connect to the database to use a huge variety of tools. Below is the item editor, I personally use EoC for everything.

First, you go here download the ODBC drivers, install them as said, then have your friend create a user account in his database editor.

Guide for HeidiSQL:
1. Click the highlighted button to bring up this dialog: http://prntscr.com/1uoxl5
2. Click add: http://prntscr.com/1uox8g
3. Check Global Privileges and set the password: http://prntscr.com/1uoxsl
4. Get the information from your friend and modify the ini file accordingly.

Guide for Navicat:
1. Click User: http://prntscr.com/1up0em
2. Click New User to get this dialog: http://prntscr.com/1uoyvn
3. Set the username, host, password, and confirm the password: http://prntscr.com/1uoyzl
4. Set the account's privileges: http://prntscr.com/1uoz5w
5. Get the information from your friend and modify the ini file accoringly.
