Default Unsupported feature error with local login server

Hi all,

I have followed this project for many many years. I have played on a number of the servers and have built a couple of my own to play locally. After taking some time off I decided to resurrect a local server as my kids are both old enough to be corrupted... err enjoy the game.

Anyhow, I have been battling an issue and after going through the forums, reading through the guides and trying different tactics I still end up with the same problem.

On the server everything appears to be ok. When I start a client I can connect to the login server and pass my credentials. I get to the server select screen and can see my server. I select that server and proceed to a black screen. After about 30 seconds I am booted back to the login screen. Here is the output from the Login Server window...

[Login Server] Logging System Init.
[Login Server] Config System Init.
[Login Server] MySQL Database Init.
[Login Server] Encryption Initialize.
[Login Server] Encryption Loaded Successfully.
[Login Server] Server Manager Initialize.
[Login Server] ServerManager listening on port 5998
[Login Server] Client Manager Initialize.
[Login Server] ClientManager listening on Titanium stream.
[Login Server] ClientManager listening on SoD stream.
[Login Server] Server Started.
[Login Server] New world server connection from 127.0.0.1:57614
[Error] Handle_NewLSInfo error, remote address was null, defaulting to stream ad
dress 127.0.0.1.
[World Server] Server Local EQ Server on LocalEQSrv(EQSRV01) did not attempt to
log in but unregistered servers are allowed.
[Login Server] New Titanium client connection from 192.168.1.25:64725
[Login Server] Application packet received from client (size 14)
[Login Server] Session ready received from client.
[Login Server] Application packet received from client (size 28 )
[Login Server] Login received from client.
[Login Server] Application packet received from client (size 12)
[Login Server] Server list request received from client.
[Login Server] Application packet received from client (size 16)
[Login Server] Play received from client, server number 2 sequence 5.
[Login Server] Client disconnected from the server, removing client.
[Login Server] New Titanium client connection from 192.168.1.25:54115
[Login Server] Application packet received from client (size 14)
[Login Server] Session ready received from client.
[Login Server] Session ready indicated logged in from world(unsupported feature)
, disconnecting.

I have tried disabling the firewall on both the client and server and I have successfully logged into a public server with the client I am using. This one has me stumped. I have this running on a Virtual Windows 7 box using VirtualBox and with a bridged adapter. The client is a physical Windows 10 system. If anyone has any thoughts as to what may be the problem it would be most appreciated.

I have always been impressed by all of the work folks have put into this project and it is great to see it is still very much alive.

Thanks!

You could try posting your config files and see if someone will review them..we don't need userid/password info.

Running a LAN server, all addresses should really point to the server computer's LAN address - with the exception of your MySQL/MariaDB service port (127.0.0.1:3306)

Some people have had issues mixing Win10 and older OS's..but, double-check your configs before venturing down that rabbit hole.

Not sure about anyone else, but I had to set my login server listening
port to 5999. (In the login.ini file). Otherwise I end up with issues.

Thanks to both of you for the quick replies. Good call Uleat. Once I changed from the loopback address to the actual eth address it worked like a charm. Thanks again!

Best,

Oh BTW Dan. I believe... and I am sure others will correct me on this if I am wrong... you set it for port 5999 if you have a SoD client or higher and port 5998 if you have a Titanium or SoF client. The clients use different op code files.

That is the setting in your client eqhost file. I am talking about the listening
port for the login server. Mine stays at 5999 all the time. Otherwise, if it is
set to 5998, there is no server list for my client to see.
