 Description: Introducing SoloQuest; an account-based progression server that actually discourages grouping. This server is tuned for solo play by scaling mobs down based on level, as well as some manual tweaks where necessary. Unlike other solo servers, this one does not remove the things that made EQ a challenging investment: corpse runs, XP loss and travel times exist here. At level 20 you unlock 1 bot spawn slot, but bots are limited here compared to other servers. In the (old) Bazaar you'll find NPC merchants selling a large selection of crafted gear and potions, as well as new NPCs in the starting cities that sell tradeskill items for those of you who want to take up crafting. This is a work in progress and I'm just one guy, so if you play here please give feedback, suggestions, and of course report bugs.

Download and extract the required CLIENT FILES into your main EQ directory.

Solo Play
  • Mobs progressively scaled down based on level, with higher levels receiving harsher scaling.
  • Aggro radius halved in dungeons and social aggro limited to 2 mobs.
  • Mobs should no longer death touch, banish, or summon (unless permarooted).
  • Raid bosses are more susceptible to CC.
  • Player HP/mana regen doubled.
  • Rest regen enabled, 15 seconds to activate.
  • Melee can bind anywhere a caster can.
  • 2x AA XP rate.
  • AAs go up to The Serpent's Spine and can all be purchased at level 51.
  • New characters start with select AAs. See the list below.

World
  • Nexus and the Bazaar are accessible in Classic.
  • Books TO the Plane of Knowledge removed from every Classic zone.
  • PoK is accessible starting in Kunark.
  • Respawn times longer than 1 hour were divided by 7, with a floor of 1 hour. So, 1 week is now 1 day +/- variance (also scaled down) when applicable.
  • Rare drops have had their drop rates conservatively increased across the board.
  • LORE,NODROP,NOTRADE disabled.
  • Classic spell effects.

Grouping
  • 50% group XP penalty if a bot is in the group.
  • 4 members max, including bots.
  • Raids can't be formed.

Bots
  • Can spawn 1 at level 20.
  • Can create up to 5.
  • Bots only buff group members and when removed from the group the buffs are canceled.
  • To keep player class choice meaningful, bots can't port, rez, pick locks/disarm traps or summon corpses. They can still bind.
  • Bots don't receive any AAs until level 60 and their AAs don't go beyond Luclin.
  • I recommend keeping a bot geared up for help with tricky corpse recoveries and eventually raids.

Progression
  • Account-based progression system. Use the !prog and !prog track commands in-game.
  • Classic: All races and classes available EXCEPT Iksar and Vah Shir. Level 51 cap so you can grind AAs here. Unlock Kunark by killing Nagafen or Vox or Phinigel OR by killing 12 iconic dungeon mobs.
  • Kunark: Iksar now available. Level 60 cap. Unlock Velious by killing Trakanon or Venril Sathir OR by completing key quests.
  • Velious: Unlock Luclin by killing Dain or King Tormax or Lord Yelinak OR by questing for every Skyshrine or Kael armor piece for your class.
  • Luclin: Vah Shir now available. Unlock PoP by killing Emperor Sshraeza or Thought Horror Overfiend or Grieg OR loot all 10 Lucid Shards for the VT key. You have to loot them from a corpse for it to count.
  • Planes of Power: Level 65 cap. Unlock GoD by TBD.
  • Gates of Discord: Unlock OoW by TBD
  • Omens of War: Level 70 cap.
Starting AAs
  • Bard: Harmonious Attack 3
  • Beastlord: Pet Discipline, Innate Run Speed 2
  • Berserker: Killing Spree, Rampage, Blinding Fury
  • Cleric: Turn Undead
  • Druid: Enhanced Root
  • Enchanter: Animation Empathy 3, Permanent Illusion
  • Magician: Pet Discipline, Elemental Pact
  • Monk: Purify Body
  • Necromancer: Pet Discipline, Flesh to Bone
  • Paladin: Divine Stun
  • Ranger: Archery Mastery 2
  • Rogue: Chaotic Stab, Shroud of Stealth, Escape
  • ShadowKnight: Soul Abrasion 2
  • Shaman: Pet Discipline, Critical Affliction 2
  • Warrior: Battle Leap, Call of Challenge, Tactical Mastery 2
  • Wizard: Spell Casting Fury 3
Hardcore Mode
  • Must be level 1 to opt in.
  • Death = delete. Nothing fancy.
  • Hardcore characters receive 2x XP.
  • Reaching level 50 on a hardcore character unlocks that class's starting AAs for all future hardcore characters on that account.
  • Immortalize your run on the leaderboard.
  • Type !hardcore in-game.
Remort System
  • Reach level 65 and speak to Xirion the Unending in Plane of Knowledge and he'll give you the option to start over at level 1 as a new class.
  • Your bots, equipment, inventory, faction, titles, skills, spells, disciplines, AAs, unspent AA points and skill practices are wiped.
  • Your bank is safe. Tradeskills are preserved. Your keyring and zone flags remain intact.
  • You retain your old class' starting AAs immediately at level 1.
  • At level 51 you reacquire all of your former CLASS tab AA ranks and half of your former ARCHETYPE AA ranks (rounded down, floor of 1).
  • For example, a Paladin with 17 ranks of Lay on Hands (CLASS) and 6 ranks of Radiant Cure (ARCHETYPE) remorts to Warrior. Once he reaches level 51 he will be a Warrior with 17 ranks of Lay on Hands and 3 ranks of Radiant Cure.
  • Retained AAs that aren't native to your new class can't be increased further.
  • There is a platinum cost of 100p per archetype+class AA rank purchased prior to remortification.
  • You can remort up to 4 times due to client limitations on the number of AAs a character may have.
    • Remort 1: 12.5% XP penalty
    • Remort 2: 25% XP penalty
    • Remort 3: 50% XP penalty
    • Remort 4: 75% XP penalty
Rules
  • Don't cheat. No MQ or any other third party hack programs.
  • No multiboxing.
  • Don't blaspheme Christ.
