Default HTTP world manager problem 878

When I use the HTTP manager it seems to work fine when just looking at values, but when I try to change something there are errors.

For example, when I try to use the zone launcher to start a static zone, I get

Perl runtime error: Can't locate object method "BootStaticZone" via package "EQW" at (eval 134) line 8.

I used butcher, everfrost, and gfaydark for the shortnames but all three give the same error.

This is under XP Home (server) and XP Pro (client) with perl 5.8.7x and mysql 5.0.26 and EQemu 843 and 878

That's weird. I used the Emu Manager to add all 28 city/common zones to a static launcher. My server is Windows 2003 Enterprise tho, so I cannot vouch for XP servers.

Default odd

very odd indeed, i hadn't tried to boot a zone in a while, i'm getting that same error as well now.

Perl runtime error: Can't locate object method "BootStaticZone" via package "EQW" at (eval 64) line 8.

same for dynamic

Perl runtime error: Can't locate object method "BootDynamicZone" via package "EQW" at (eval 72) line 15.

this is from a winxp pro sp2 box, with the 10/22/2006 build.

Same with 898 - its like something is missing from the package.

Oh well, finally figured out how to start a static zone from my start.bat. As usually, it was bloody simple. Just add "zone.exe <shortname>".

I've only loaded highpass and butcher as static so far, but memory and CPU usage is diddly. Looks like I can static all the zones where I really want the spawn cycles to continue etc. No idea how many I can handle on this 1 gig P4 3.4 gig (not dual core - yet!)

You can also manually enter them into the start_zones table as well using something like MySql Query Browser.

a few questions.

my start.bat looks like this

Code:

@echo off
start world.exe
echo Waiting for World to finish before starting Zone...
sleep 20
start eqlaunch.exe zones
what should it look like if i wanted to boot say pok and butcher static?

thanks in advance..

There is a way to spawn zones with the manager.

world->Launcher Click on your launcher name

or

http://<IP>:9080/launcher.html?name=<your launcher name>
Here you can spawn static zones.

Default read?

this whole thread is about how the http manager isn't working for us. getting perl errors and what not. "Rhodan" knows a way to add them via the start.bat file. i'd like to know that.

ah.. the 'Start a zone" link on the 'zones' page goes to an old zone booting system. You need to go through the launcher system to start zones.
