Port 9000 not open - possibly x86-64 related
Hi. I have been having a problem setting up EQE on a new server, which is running Debian 5.0 Lenny x86-64.
To start, I used the setup script created by Kobaz and Orkim (as well as creating a couple of missing links), added/sourced the mysql databases & gave all necessary permissions. I meticulously verified that my login.ini and eqemu_config.xml were configured correctly (we are running our own login server). Code wise, I simply changed all of the makefiles by removing the -march=i686 tag, as it wouldn't build with that in there.
When I run the start script, everything appears to be fine. The login server is running, as well as world and the dynamic zones, and also the persist_world script. If I run an nmap on my computer at this point, I can see that even though world and zones are running, port 9000 is not open on the system. Even though we can connect to the login server, we cannot login with a valid username. I would suspect this was a database problem because of the login, but the port 9000 not being open makes me suspect something else is wrong.
I have scoured the log files, but haven't seen anything that will give me a clue as to what is going on, but it could be that I'm missing something.
Any ideas on this? Thanks, and sorry if this has been covered elsewhere.
