Looking for server/create a server
First, I would like to thank everyone who has contributed to creating EQEMU and all of the servers. A friend and I played everquest back when it first came out and are looking forward to giving it try again.
That being said, my friend and I are wondering if there are any servers out there that have some of the following features:
1. Fast exp gain - unlike 1999, my friend and I have demanding jobs and simply don't have the time to get to 50 again.
2. Original (classic) items - including items like guise, manastone etc.
3. Higher drop/spawn rates - again, we would like to re-live the good old days, not have to camp fear for 7 days
4. Solo/duo friendly.
5. Limited expansions
We both were drawn, at first, to project 1999 because it recreates "classic" EQ content. It does, however, have the drawback that it adheres to the race penalties and low drop rates that we simply can't handle with our schedules (also not being able to get a guise for my TSK will kill me). I guess the ideal would be an 1999-lite server, but it didn't look like any such server exists.
Any advice on which server to join or, if it would be possible, to leap-frog off project 1999 and other custom servers to create our own custom server that would have the options we desire.
