Full Time Server needs a Partner/Staff
I have a full time server running and I need a few interested people to help me maintain it, fix it, and develop it further. I have been running solo so far but its taking me forever to progress. Anyone interested? PM me

None of my business, but this is a bad idea. Recruiting on a forum will generally get you more headaches than help. It's better to recruit from your player base where yo can see who is helping others, who is solving problems, and who is just looking for power or a title.
I've run a server before and I know. As a matter of fact, I was approached recently by a couple of people from that old server wanting to bring it back... then they vanished when I said OK. LOL

As Scorpius said, it is likely a bad idea to openly recruit random people to join your team like this. I would recommend looking around and seeing the people on the forums who know what they're doing, have worked on servers, and know how to be a Developer. Some people will disappear when given a position, or they'll be corrupt, or they'll ruin your entire project. This is just my opinion.

Lots of active developers on here willing to help in their free time but I wouldn't necessarily try to recruit a full time staff member here. Need to develop some sort of trust first.

I disagree with everyone who posted above.
Recruit wherever and whoever is willing to advance your goals.
However, it would be to your advantage to post specific things that you would like to be completed instead of a vague "help me pleebs".

I've been working on my server solo for around 8 months now.
Only got the first 12 zones done and the background mechanics fleshed out.
You may think this isn't much, but when you're alone, quality is in your hands.
I personally wouldn't forum recruit, unless I've known the person, and have seen their work offhand.

I have to echo loudly the sentiments expressed above. One must be very very careful allowing someone else access to your hard work. There's a legion of "experts" out there who will pop up on any new server offering to help, usually to the detriment of the project. In fact, one can often trace the start of the decline of a server from the very moment some of these worthies appear on the scene.
Be cautious, and pay attention to quality advice from the players. Long time emu players seem to know who to watch out for more than many devs, sadly. Every other spankmaster who maybe thumbed a copy of Perl for Dummies one day on the bus seems to think he's a top-notch coder. Sorting these out fast will be your first and most important task when hiring an assistant.

LOL. Just kidding. It's good advice, obviously not read often enough.

Hmm didn't really think about that since I this forum was mainly for development but thanks for the heads up ... I don't really have a playerbase except my best friend and a couple family members so recruiting from them is out of the question lol.

Just a FYI, we started our server with a friend and my 12 year old twins. It was pretty popular in it's day. Probably one of the top five servers back then?
Don't underestimate what a friend and a couple of family members can do.

Perhaps this calls for a section of the forum for people to recruit and/or post their interest in getting involved with development?
