Help? Cant get it working....

I do everything it says in the read me , and I cant get it working. I tried both to play on another persons server , and to use the mini log in.

When i try to play on a server i make or join anothers , it either kicks me back to login screen right before it goes to character screen , or makes me linkdead when i try and make a character.

When I try to use mini log in ( the 2.6 one with 3.0 , and 2.6 with 2.6 ) when i try to log on at the login screen , it says I have incorrect version and to re run the patch.

Does anyone have any idea whats wrong?

Oh and I have windows xp if that matters.

You have the wrong version of minilogin. you need the new one that can be found at http://eqemu.net/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1232

Thanks , it got rid of the incorrect versio thing , but now its giving me a 1079 error or something like that when im about to get to char select screen. Any ideas?

I think i did something wrong with the database or something , in the world.exe box after it kicks me off , it says

Error #1054 Unknown column "zonename" iin "fieldlists"
Error in GetCharSelectInfo 'SELECT name,profile.....etc"
and some other stuff.

ok i sort of fixed the db problem , now all it says is

i tried using localhost instead of the ip it said to use in boot5zones thing , but still doing the same thing.

Also im on dial up and not using firewalls.

Sounds like you have a corrupted Database. Try and download Drawde's database. copy it to c:mysqlin .... And install that using the same method you would in the MYSql part of the readme. be sure to run winmysqlamin.exe delete out the old database, and create a new one called eq.

First off, Lets take the simple route!

down everything, login/minilogin, world.exe, boot5zone, eqw

1. Goto your Everquest directory... open the EQHOST.txt file.. make sure it reads the following, you can copy and paste it, to make it easy.. ONLY copy between my comments/...

Do i have to use the EQW or can i just use a eqgame.exe patchme shortcut?

Yeah, you have to use EQW at this time, download it real fast! Ill walk you through this..

i tried using Full screen Eqgame.exe patchme it does not work.

i dled it , and tried to use it , but when i do , it opens up some screen then just freezes up my whole comp....

you cant jump ahead of me.. after you downloaded it, make sure you set your colors to 16bit..

IE -- right click on desktop, click properties, choose settings tab, set colors to 16bit, click apply, and in XP, click yes to accept settings..

Can you set your stats ie str dex etc?
And can you do alternate advancement skills?

woot, told ya we would get this working.. Next in order to get your skills set, you have to run your own server. the command is #setallskill [level] (ie-- 252 is max at this time) Or talk to the serverOP of that server..

use #itemsearch to look for an item, and #summonitem to get that #ed item..

I got my skills set , i just cant figure out how to get like str and stuff.

Can you make your own items and mobs and such? I heard someone talking about that somewhere. How can you do it if you know?

and download the EQAdmin, youll have to scroll down to get the newest version, i think it is 2.4 right now, Windcatcher is awesome for making that tool for us..

there is a proggy out there that allows you to edit your own iems, but i never used it, I don't even know the LOC of it , i just forgot, but i did read about it!
as im still new to eqemu... I only know what i have done..
