Patch/connection problem?

Hey ..i can't update the patch fully otherwise win 98 yells at me about eqgame causing a error in <uknown> ..so aanywyas i don't update that part and load it up with the patchme method. Once i login and everything i select the server...then for some reason it returns to the login screen. Please help.

I updated direct x but that didn't do anythign either. I checked the other part of the fourm about what could be wrong and i tried stuff but nothing worked =/

Well, if you don't patch you can't play at all because then you have a really old version of EQ. So you need to patch to live and then if it keeps crashing when you try to load the game up ask Sony's tech support about it. Just don't tell them your trying to load up and conenct to here, jsut tell them the game is crashing on you. Because if you can't even get to the login screen its definitely a problem Sony needs to help you with.

Delete EQgame.exe, eqclient.ini, eqgfx_dx8.dll, and eqmain.dll and repatch.
