When I ran into this is was related to the minilogin version. When I downloaded the latest version, it worked.

$0.02

Edit: One other thing. If you are using your own server, make sure you have an account with that username/password. I had to use my admin tool and add an eqemu/eqemu test account so I could test the darn thing.

to my understanding all you need to do is edit the eqhost file correct? im trying to join someone elses btw. I changed eqhost then i run eq with the patchme version but i put in my forum info and it gives me a 1001 error.

Sounds right to me...but an expert I am not :) I play with the emu only once in a blue moon.

Do you actually zone in and then go LD? Because then I would suggest checking datarate.txt in your EQ folder. If it's set to 5 (the default), the emu usually doesn' like it. Values from 7 to 10 usually work.

If you don't actually zone in, then I have no idea...

Just so you know this IS NOT a support forum, but I dont feel like being an ass and making you post it in the right forum just to give you what I did to fix it...

I took out the line:

"eqlogin2.eqemu.net:5999"

and then I was able to connect.
