ok i did all the stuff the read me told me to do but when i start the game it says i need directx 6 or higher.(i have 8.1) ive tried reinstalling using the one on the cd. downloading from icrosoft it doesnt work some help please?

Could you tell me how you fixed this?

I have Win2k pro, and I have uninstalled reinstalled the os reinstalled EQ, go to use the \path\eqgame.exe patchme

and always get that directx 6 error.! I have tried every version, one thing is when I load the drivers for my video card, its an Nvidia Geforce2 it automatically loads up dirext7! Do you know do I have to some how not install directx7? Don't know, been at this awhile now.
