You can have a pet sleeper with GM status, or you could kill 300 sleepers.

07-02-2003, 06:44 PM
hehehe, #spawn like 3000 sleepers with 1 hp, then come over here and kill them all in a single hit

What would be the point of that? hehe, well, anyways, I have the ultimate final boss on mine who is stronger than Kerafym (well, sort of, I didn't put in the death touches).

dumb question 532: why are there no quests?

07-04-2003, 02:47 AM
No quests in eqemu? Well thats cause the people who make eqemu servers are too lazy, but if u mean no quests for sleeper, thats cause sony was too lazy

Make your own quests or get some from the quest forum.

1) is actually /summon <charname> not #summon. (thats what I used on krushers)

Correct me if I am wrong, but I think there was a quest at one time for the sleeper. The item, if memory serves, was a crystalline scale that sat in your inventory and gave somewhere aronud +50 to all stats. However, I think Sony never instated the quest, because the item would be too uber for any character; even though a high level guild did use an exploit to kill the real sleeper on a server.

I've noticed a plethora of stories about this mysterious sleeper - all of which conflict with each other. Do you have any evidence of this slaying?

I'm not convinced the sleeper was EVER killed - not even through an exploit. The most convincing 'myth' I have seen was a bunch of screenshots of a guild exploiting the pathing around a bridge in sleeper's tomb to kill a normal mob (the warders?).

I have no personal experience killing the sleeper, or being anywhere near sleeper's tomb when the incident 'occurred.' As you have stated before I have also come accross several conflicting stories (ie.: running back-and-forth in front of the sleeper and hitting Kerafyrm with barehands; hiding casters under the bridge; etc; etc ).

The exploit you ( and I ) are referring to is using a rock to trap the warders, a flaw in the pathfinding ( which was fixed long ago ), which rendered the warders unable to attack. I don't know if the same was done for the sleeper ( I would have to find out some more ).

However, there was a GM event ( or mini event ) where GMs did despawn the sleeper after he was stuck in the side of the mountain which, like the warders, rendered him unable to attack.

Here was what I found as far as the exploit --
Not everyone on the servers you mentioned are fools =P. On Druzzil Ro only the newbie people are stupid and unfortunatlely that is who posts mostly =P as for killing the sleeper, it can be done but so far only thru an exploit of trapping him in a rock, the guild was banned from EQ that did this. In normal situations tho yes, Sleeper is 100% unkillable atm. He hits for to much, and has to much hp. He in the current rate of what people can do is unkillable, this may change in time but for now he can't be killed

However, as you said, information is conflicting everywhere... But there is prolly some quest somewhere reguarding the death of the sleeper ( even thou the death of the sleeper would mean the end of norrath ( according to the lore ) ).

I will have to contact several of my old EQ buddies to see what they remember/know of all of the hype surrounding the incident....

On a side note -- the only way that I know of to damage the sleeper is to send in a tank, have him killed after the sleeper harm touches him ( once every 30 secs ) then send in a bunch of tanks/casters and nuke for 20 secs, run, leave one tank in the room, have him/her harmed touched for around 30K HP damage, and then repeat the process.

If multi-mana burn was not disabled on mobs, one could get maybe 200+ 65 Wizzies to mana burn the sleeper.

But sorry from detracting from the original topic

Curiosity got the better of me. Took a little bit of digging, but here's a story about a guild called Conquest and their adventures in Sleeper's Tomb: Congrats Conquest (http://groups.google.com/groups?dq=&hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF8&threadm=ChxT6.8676%24Jg4.819524%40news1. telusplanet.net&rnum=11&prev=/groups%3Fq%3Dg:thl789356580d%26dq%3D%26hl%3Den%26l r%3D%26ie%3DUTF-8%26oe%3DUTF8%26selm%3DChxT6.8676%2524Jg4.819524%2 540news1.telusplanet.net%26rnum%3D11)

Thread #40 in the newspost explains what happened: Conquest was allegedly using an exploit to kill a warder, and SoE decided to unleash the sleeper on them. Sleeper didn't die.

I bet a lot of myths came from this.

Sleeper has never been killed on any server, whether through an exploit or not. The thing with Conquest was, as explained above, done to the Fourth Warder, and possibly the other 3.

I know in RL someone who helped designed the Velious expansion, and as former guild leader of one of the top EQ guilds, he gave info about the Sleeper. Basically he was never meant to be killed. Regens for a lot very fast. DTs every 5 seconds, and no, he does not zone-wide DT. As far as detrimental spells on the Sleeper, I do know he is not completely resistant cuz before the raid wiped to him, a ranger managed to proc his epic slow on him. Whether or not he's even been taken down in % is something I do not know, and frankly, I dont believe it has happened.

Sleeper has never been killed, and I feel like he never will be...

(I also played on the server that Conquest was on, and was playin when I heard about what they did....of course most of 'em got killed then whacked with what was formerly known as the Verant Ban Stick (TM)

OK newbie here, I have read the forums quite a bit, but either missed or didn't understand some things...

Why would a separate patcher file be needed to run EQemu; Is it because its not practical to keep up with EQlives changes?

How do you get that ultra GM status on a server, or is it automatic when using the EQminilogin? I really want to spawn some oversized critters:)

When looking at some quest scripts, I noticed the script file names are numbers, do those numbers corrospond to NPCs? is there a list somewhere?

Where can I find a list of numbers to select the items I want to spawn?

Why doesn't someone write a batchfile to do most the work needed to do all the mods needed to use EQenu?

Thanks!

1. Because the current version of EQEmu does not work with the current version of EQ. The patcher, in essence, unpatched your EQ client to an older version that was compatible with EQEmu. But, due to various reasons (bandwith costs, possible legal issues....) it was decided that the patcher could no longer be made available. However, the next version of the Emu to come out will be compatible with the most recent version of EQ, so the patcher won't be needed anyway.

2. GM status is set in the database on the server that you are playing on.

3. The numbers correspond to NPC numbers. The numbers can be found in the database. (and they are not necessarily consistant... Vox on my server might be #1234 and #4321 on your server... it's however you set it up)

4. Same as above.

5. Don't know.... because there are too many steps to do?
