Really need help

Hey i use to have Eqemu and i ran it on Eqw on its earlier version where ya had to go thru a lot to get it. My computer got a big virus and i had to run the delete cd's to my whole computer and i lost eqemu. I just came back today to check to see if i could get it back and i followed the instructions on what to do. I got up to the part where it says add patchme to the Eq properties target area. Well i did and then i ran the patch and all of a sudden it started running a 6 and a half hour patch. I play Eq live with EQW, i have a fast computer and i don't know why its giving me this major patch. To add to that everytime the patch loads a new file it adds that file to my desktop so within 5 minutes of the patch my desktop was filled with files for EQ. Can anyone plz help me out??

The only thing I can figure is that you copied the eqgame.exe file to your desktop. You need to create a shortcut to it, do not copy it. If you copied it, it will use the desktop as your everquest directory, it will notice there are no files there, and it will begin to download the everquest trilogy. If you make a shortcut, then it still uses the everquest directory and all should be fine.
