Be sure to turn on high-res models, Ogres (and trolls) aren't as large/wide. Also besides shrinking mentioned above, you can play in first person view, and see what's in front of you that way.

If other people see that and not you, that would suggest to me you have significant lag and/or packet loss between you and the server, and what they are seeing is the server updating your position...

It happens to me occasionally on random characters using Titanium client. To avoid it, use "switch to fullscreeen" in the Alt-O options menu instead.
