I get the very same error when running...

I get the very same error when running boot5zones.bat.

I've tried running zone.exe on win2000 and win98 with the same result

I'm using the binary distribution btw.

It only happens when I connect to the server via another client machine btw. I dunno if the models aren't updating or what's going on, but female...

I have have run into a few problems. When I tried version 0.2.1 with both server and client on 1 machine it appeared to work fine (problem #1 exists in this setup...

Patience..

It seems as if the server doesn't actually update it's database for a few minutes after you created the account. Just wait about 5 minutes and try again.

The "can't register" thing is when you have 2 zone servers trying to access the same zone.. World server keeps track of which ports/IPs are being used by which zone server, and if you try to change...

Raptor made it compile by hacking the files himself, fiddling with them until it would work, but when I was retracing his steps I couldn't make it work.

Well.. the way I see it, all the zone server really does is tell your client to load the zone files.. and since the zone files are on your client machine they're not needed on the server.
