Default Experience Rates?

Hello everyone,

I was wondering if I could get some opinions on experience rates, progression, and all that jazz from you guys. I'm trying to tweak my private server to have fast progression, but not *too* fast. I noticed each individual zone has it's own XP modifier, and then there's the XP/Group XP/AA XP rules and variables.

I've noticed that if I set the XP modifier rule higher, to say 3.0, it's pretty good in the lower zones, but the second I hit Crushbone, which has a 3.0 modifier of it's own, I practically fly through 10-20 in like twenty minutes.

Is it better, in your opinions, to set a lower xp modifier rule, and keep the zone xp modifiers the same, or set the zone xp modifiers to 0.10 or something like that across the board, and have a higher XP modifier, thus giving the same general experience rate across the board? (Maybe tweaking that a bit for individual dungeons or whatnot..)

Your input is greatly appreciated and anticipated.

Thanks!

well SOE originly gave each zone an XP modifier to drag players to them, or as a trade off for worse loot.
In case of the private server, I would set all zones to 1.0 (efectly normaly XP)
and then just play with player XP the way you like.
Otherwise you will have to adjust everysingle zone manualy and there is realy no point of going that way.

Wink

RUles = Regular XP
Variables = Group XP, read the description in the table :P

Rules Table:
__________________________________________________ __
|ruleset_id___________|rule_name_____________| rule_value|
|0__________________|Character:ExpMultiplier__|1.0 _______|

Variables Table:
__________________________________________________ __________
|varname___________|value____________| information_____________|
|GroupEXPBonus_____|.20______________|Experience Multiplier. Inc...|

Hope that answers your questions.....

Ok.. I miss spoke my question. Let me try that a different way.

Lets say everything is set to 1.0 (all exp options in all tables).
Now I kill one mob that gives 1000exp points.

in RULES I jump it to 2.0
I would expect my exp for that same kill to be 2000exp right?

Now let say I set VARIABLES / EXPMod to 2.0 ontop of my RULES setting.
Would I then get 4000exp for that same kill?

Lets complicate it one more time (both from above are 2.0 still) now add in the VARIABLES / AAXPMod set to 2.0
Would I then get 8000exp with AA set to 100% ??

The same question is for group too.. do all these options stack?

Thks.
