Unhappy Freezing at server login! :(

I’ve looked all over in interwebz for the answer to my problem, but can’t seem to find the fix. I just installed EQ Titanium, took all the proper measures to connect to EQEmulator (changing the host.txt file, setting the filepath to the shortcut) and started receiving the infamous “eqgame.exe has found a problem and needs to close. We’re sorry for the inconvenience,” or whatever.

So I proceeded to update my NVIDIA GeForce 6800 drivers, download DirectX 9 or higher, etc. like people have suggested. Still got the same error.

THEN I just patched and updated through EQLive to see if I could at least get 14 days of nostalgia (and with my luck, I my “personal tutorial zone” wouldn’t load) and changed the host.txt file back to EQEmu’s.

NOW the game would run, I could finally reach the server list!! Hooray childhood! But of course, upon clicking any EQEmu server, the window would freeze. Sometimes it modifies the gamma or something on my entire monitor while frozen, but hasn't the last few times since I tried rebooting the PC. I am able move the cursor, but it never allows me to click on anything no matter how long I wait and I am forced to ctrl+alt+del in order to get out. Does anyone have a remedy for this problem?

Thank you!
