Default Always re patches when I connect everquest.exe

Is this supposed to happen? When i try to connect through eqgame.exe it says please use Everquest.exe I did that and went through an hour long patch process. Now everytime I try to connect through Everquest.exe it always patches something for at least 4 mins. any feedback will be greatly appreciated.
Also I could not find Boot5zone.winx9 (sp?) So I skipped that part, can anyone tell me where to find this file??

Start reading.... There are many key concepts here that your missing at this time.

Read some of the how too's and stuff on this form then reformulate the question...

Short of reposting the step by step that is written all over the place answering the question you asked would not help you any.

What exactly are you trying to accomplish? Basically, you need to download EQW 2.21 from EQHackers.com and use that to connect to the EQEmu Servers. Reason being, if you use EverQuest.exe, it will repatch every single time and reupdate the files you have to change in order to connect to the EQEmu. Make sense?

Are you triyng to run your own servers by using Boot5Zones or what? Your post is confusing. Read the several readme's included and then repost.

Quote from the readme.. next time try READING IT..

Quote:
1) Patch to the current version of Everquest by running "Everquest" on your desktop or by running Everquest.exe in your EQ directory.

2) Download EQW 2.21 from http://eqw.eqhackers.com/

3) Extract eqw.zip into your Everquest directory. It would also be a good idea to create a shortcut of EQW.exe on your desktop.

**NOTE: EQW requires your desktop be set to 16 bit color mode. If EQW doesnt work, try using a different
color setting or desktop resolution.

4) Open eqhost.txt in your EQ directory and change it to say this (use copy/paste):

[Registration Servers]
{
"eqlogin.eqemu.org:5999"
}
[Login Servers]
{
"eqlogin.eqemu.org:5999"
}

boot5zones.bat and boot5zones.win9x.bat are both in the eqemu win32 download. You only need the correct one for your OS (NT or 9x respectivly) Recheck the directory you unziped the download to, and the zip file.

We all know this, that is why short of screaming it at you this is all we can do till you figure out what your doing on your end.

The readme that is also in the download gives pretty good step by step directions for the different setups people might want to run. If you have trouble with a step, DON'T skip it it is needed.

The readme clearly explains how to open boot5zones.bat (or .win9x.bat). How hard can this be unless your still in pre-school.

heres a quote from the readme to make it a little easier.

Quote:
3) Right click Boot5Zones.bat and click EDIT (This should open up the file in a notepad)
(Or open Boot5Zones.Win9x.bat if you are on Windows 98 or ME).

change it to look like this ("YourIP" has to be replaced with your REAL IP)

@echo off
start zoneNT . YourIP 7995 127.0.0.1
start zoneNT . YourIP 7996 127.0.0.1
start zoneNT . YourIP 7997 127.0.0.1
start zoneNT . YourIP 7998 127.0.0.1
start zoneNT . YourIP 7999 127.0.0.1
exit
cls

You'll have to find the file first of course.
