There is an unofficial position that if they give you the files from their own server without verifying your registration, but after you bought the original client, and that you didn't in any way subvert the intended use of the patcher program through hacking or using 3rd party patchers...

Then it's not warez. Download away. But be prepared for it to patch over your current version of eq and break it. Patches on big patch days break stuff.
