Heh I don't feel bad now I was scratching my head over this too at first. Need to put your db info and login info into the eqemu_config.xml file and it will fix that issue.
Read over everthing in the link Doodman posted and you shouldn't have a problem setting it up. Also 6.5 doesn't work with minilogin yet if you want to play alone. But it works great using the public emu loginserver. Well except for the http server still crashes the world but not a big issue for me.
