If you have the patience to watch paint dry, p99 is a rewarding throw back of the era where paper and pen met 3D gaming. Early EQ, as a child, was both rewarding because of her sense of wonder and also challenging because of the generally retarded way that quests and story seemed to have no correlation. (Lion meat anyone?)
As the franchise matured, she blossomed into a beautiful 1st gen MMO; sadly, because she refused to put out, many entrants to the MMO genre sought easier gaming in WoW.
The reduced pursuit of EQ past her formative years left her a dried up has-been, played mostly by 1-man teams, passing through her from toon to toon.

EQ Emu gives you the chance to remember EQ through any of these lenses. It also allows you to see what EQ might have been had she dressed differently, partied less, was more purposeful in her advancements, etc.

I think most servers will give you the chance to play with other players. Some sooner than others; and some more consistently than others.
