For a long time moestaverne wasn't a very reliable site. You can see that if you search for all the people having timeout issues and such. This reflected poorly on the usability of the launcher, and if anyone asked I would recommend alternative ways to update and launch their clients.
It may be reliable now that you are hosting it and with the new version, but it will still take time for people that gave up on it to perhaps give it another chance.
For what it's worth, I never had an issue with the older version, but I stopped using it before the reliability issues started happening since I just don't play on a bunch of different servers so using it to patch the files wasn't a big savings for me. I preferred to just keep separate client folders for the few I played on and keep them up to date manually. I use WinEQ to actually launch the clients for the hotkey functionality so the launching part of the launcher wasn't ever useful to me.
