The guide says to fuly update because the files installed by the EQ are way too old to be compatible with the Emu, but unfortunately the patch files are too new to work with the Emu so until the Emu is updated you won't be able to log on. This happens quite freuently as Sony loves to completely break their old code. Some times it takes a day to get hte Emu updated and other times its taken weeks to do. It jsut depends on how much got changed and how much free time the Devs feel like using to fix it.
