Question Error 1017

I keep getting this error ( Cannot log into eq server. you may need to rerun the update patch. Repeatedly seeing this message indicates a loss of connectivity to the patch server. this is usually temporary.) every time i log into eqemu and pick a server to log on to. I checked my host and its 5998 and i have shortcut set to patchme but still no luck. Few times i also got a ( Error- A Timeout occurred ) Message which bumps me back to the log in screen. Any ideas how i can go about fixing this?

No you'll have to wait for the emu to catch up to live. I had to wait from November until the May fix so don't feel bad I'll certainly always have a backup though so it never happens again

I have the same problem, but my EQ folder is a copy of someone who does play, so it cant be a patching problem. Disabling my firewall doesnt help either.
