are you using "localhost" or "127.0.0.1" for all of the IP addresses??

I have a router but the firewall is down. I went in and opened the ports in the config *the ones used in boot5zones* and it lets me use the emulator. I still lag alot in this new version though and go LD alot so I really can't use it, but it does let me on. Then again my computer has been acting up lately, I am thinking my hard drive is going bad so that is a possible problem I could be having also.
