You should copy the contents of your pre-9/13 folder as they are, to the other computer. Then you can play eqemu on the other computer.

Some versions of the server have had client issues where the client seems to not respond after some time. I think they've ironed a lot of those out on very recent versions. Might want to check which version the server you're connecting to is running.
