Default Crash upon boot up

Ok, so I bought EQTitanium today, installed it, did NOT patch, and then changed the eqhost and shortcut files as directed in the Playguide. However, there is an issue with the game, in that EQGame.exe crashes after double clicking the shortcut (about 10 or so seconds after) and just says "sorry of the inconvenience, blah blah blah" with an Ok button...did I do something wrong or am I missing something?

Bah, cant find the edit button...

Anyways, I restarted my computer, and now I'm getting the same pop up about eqgame.exe having to close, except it has a Debug button. Clicking on that loads up my Microsoft Visual C++ and I get another pop-up saying "Unhandled exception in eqgame.exe: 0xC0000005: Access Violation" any idea what that would mean?

Do you have the latest DirectX 9 installed? Have you updated the drivers on your PC? Did it run the configurator for EQ when you first launched it? What are the specs for your PC? Like mobo, ram, videocard, etc.?

Assuming you've done everything right on your end, it's still a bit vague on what it is exactly wrong without knowing vital details. Telling us that your car is broken without actually telling us what kind of car it is doesn't help us.

If you know what I mean. :p

My apologies, perhaps I should've been more specific.

-I have no updated any drivers for my machine in about a year or so.

-I'm running an AMD Athlon XP 1.10 GHz processor, with 1.25 GB of Ram and a Sapphire Radeon 9600 XT 128 MB video card. I am unsure of the motherboard, I just know it works with my hardware :P

-I didn't run any configuration programs or the Patcher, I merely installed into a fresh folder, changed the EQHost.txt file, added the "D:\Games\EverQuest" patchme to a shortcut, and booted it up.

-I did try a fresh install, by uninstalling titanium, deleting the folder, reinstalling it, and all the above configurations needed, and I made it up to the part where it asks for a user name and password...and it crashes with the same error after logging in.

I hope that helps.

Edit: Now when EQ Crashes after logging in, I get a message saying I have the same Access Violation, but this time it's a violation when accessing the "eqgame.exe (EQMAIN.DLL)" file.

Are you logging into a public server or running your own minilogin server? For the latter, you'll have to manually add an account before you log in. As for a public server, you need to create a login and password through the Login Server here and then log in with that on the server you wish to play on.

On the main page, look on the top right. You'll see a "For Players" column. Click on the top link (New Login Access) and make your account there. Then use this login and password to log in any public server you wish to play on - even yours (if it's public). Just don't make it the same as your forum account.

See if that helps.

But you really should keep up to date with your drivers on your computer. Without knowledge of what's inside your PC, how could you possibly know what to fix when something goes wrong with it? :p
