Default need some information badly

let it not be said I am not reading the docs ! .......anyway from what ive read eqemu sets up eq - any content quests so I need to download the quests is this assumtion correct?

Also is it illegalfor me to talk about getting eq content? ......if it is forbidden to talk about this aspect it seems kind of silly considering people are setting up servers with 0 content if they go by the book

Could someone please let me know what assumtions above are correct/incorrect and some help would be nice if possible

General questing in EQ, I have never heard of a converse option "coming up". You target an NPC, press H for "Hail", and answer them back with key words or phrases they sometimes feed you [in brackets].

I think in later quests, adventures, tasks, etc... you have dialog boxes to help you through the content. But a majority of EQ(1) quests are command line input - no dialogs.

Am I just on crack?

Every quest that i have done was in the format of what John Adams said. Never seen a dialog box or anything. just standard Hail and respond back with npc targeted asking about whatever was in the [ ]. But if you get no response from hailing then do what wize one posted and dl the quest pack from the link he posted.

unless it has changed in the newer expansions I doubt your on crack John hehe.
Or that would make two of us on crack heh and i played on live for almost 5 years and never noticed that option in old EQ.

Heh, I can see where you're comin from. When I go back to playing EQ2 I'll have to get use to the context menus all over again. But EQ, you just have to use keywords. Sometimes you have to experiment with different contexts...

Hail, NPC_00
NPC_00 says, 'Good day Sylverwolf. Were you able to kill some [bandits]?'
You say, 'bandits'
You say, 'bandits?'
You say 'what bandits?'
You say 'who bandits?'
NPC_00 says, 'The bandits on the north ridge have been attacking our village. Bring me their heads and I will reward you.'

I thought the PEQ db was included in Cavedude's 352 pack? Not sure if it's the Luclin RC1, but pretty sure it is?

A Version is, but it doesn't matter because you can just set teh couple files to change over from cavedude's db and use peq's instead and then install PEQ's luclin DB independantly and use that one... not too hard and theres already threads on how to do it... i switched between the two regularly when testing some things between them.

yeah I have been reading multiple guides and managed to get the peq one working! ,......thanks for your reply .....I wanted to set up manually so i easily new what to do and could get databases that were full of quests and easily be able to alter stuff but I cant find a manual setup anywhere ........I started a thread specific to a manual setup and someone just told me to read the wiki .........thats what ive been doing for the past 10 days and the manual setups are for much older versions and the ini files are different for them .......as I rold the guy I cant see a manual setup for 0.70 - cavedudes pack anywhere in the wiki ......if someone could show me one and prove me wrong that would be great

Im getting disconnected on death with both dbs is this normal? maybe theres info relevant to 0.70 EQEMU but I couldnt find any ......maybe I missed that as ive been focussing on finding a manual 0.70 setup guide

thanks

cheers zengez I was thinking if I just goto the peq database in mysql then execute the 2 sql files that remake the db after dropping them then alter the quest path in config.ini then next alter the xml file it would work? Im also assuming I dont need to change the maps ?

Still a bit of a pain getting dc at death though
