I have Hughesnet internet for my access.

But if i dialup i can get into servers, i only connectat like 26kbs tho
and with Hughes I connect some thing like 400-1200 kbs
any clues with how to tweak my client to get it to work?

I checked out your ISP's web site and this is what they say

[quote]Q: What is transmission latency?

A: Latency refers to the amount of time it takes a packet of data to travel across a network. With satellite service, that data must travel up to the satellite and back (about 45,000 miles). This round trip adds about a half-second delay to the total time your computer takes to communicate with a Website or host server. Therefore, time-sensitive applications that require fractions-of-a-second user inputs (such as multi-player

With satellites used for U.S. internet service stationed approximately 23,000 miles above the equator, each information/response packet has to make a round trip of about 92,000 miles, producing a noticeable lag -- about 0.25 seconds -- in applications that require near-instantaneous actions.

It's a provider thing so call them or shake your fist at the sky. I would belive the 250-500ms-ish minimum lag can cause hook up problems over a sattelite. A phone is near instant, depending on distance, but is much more reliable to get in touch with the login server with.

So your dialup is via a cell or satellite phone? If not, then it has nothing in common with satellite transmittion speeds.

But thank you, you just convinced me to never get Satellite Internet, ever.

I love it o o
I've got it kinda working now
I connect with dialup to get into log server
then disconnect the dialup and plugback in the cat 5 cable.
And i can play and it works fine, which makes 0 sence to me all (cuz i connect with a differnt IP)
but why complain if it works right?
