Default Connection to server cannot be reached? pls help

After putting in my password and clicking login i get an error msg reading:
A connection to the server cannot be reached...
Ive been on and played before so i know i have everything installed correctly, is the login server down for some reason atm?

just wait a bit and try again.. if you have it set up correctly theres not much you can do.. and double check that your eqhost.txt looks like this:

[LoginServer]
Host=eqemulator.net:5998
do NOT use an IP in eqhost.txt

ok, well its still down with no luck of connection... anyone have any other ideas?

u could try doing a traceroute on eqemulator.net:5998

see if the connection is being blocked somewhere along the way...

I would say you either picked up a bug, or have a malware/virus still undetected(probably the latter)
I can't find these links anymore but a google-search for these files should get you the latest versions;

SUPERAntiSpyware.exe (freeware)
Spy Sweeper (Trial Version)
CCleaner (freeware)

Install them all, and run them in detail. They each have something outstanding, they do a little better.

Ok, next i tried to see if my firewall was blocking it and thats not the problem. I did find that i dont have the file named loginserver.ini could this be the problem and what can i do to fix it? thanks
