Default UI Error

I patched with the doh patcher and now when I try to run it I get a black screen and then it pops back out of it and gives me the message: Error in your GUI XML files. Please check UIErrors.txt. UIErrors.txt says:
UIErrorLog created at Fri Jul 08 23:14:10 2005
[Fri Jul 08 23:14:10 2005] Warning: file EQLSUI.xml not found in directory UIFiles\default\. Attempting to use file from Default skin.

[Fri Jul 08 23:14:11 2005] Error reading XML.
[Fri Jul 08 23:14:11 2005] Error loading skin: loading default skin instead.

I tried deleting my default UI and redownloading, that didn't work. Any ideas? Thanks.

I have the same exact problem as moydock. "Error in your GUI XML files. Please check UIErrors.txt."

Please any help would be greatly appreciated.

I had this as well. When I checked the .txt doc, it was reporting an occurence of two "back" buttons or something of that nature in the EQUI_TicketWindow.xml file. I simply deleted the file and had no more issues.

Edit: Deleted the EQUI_TicketWindow.xml file, I should clarify.

I just had this same problem, and deleting the file didn't fix it for me. Any ideas?

Default found a solution

ok this is what i found out. when you created that shortcut to the desktop its trying to write files and stuff onto your desktop. im thinking its a pathing issue with win98se. im betting that all of you are having that same problem on that os. here's what ya do. create a shortcut in the everquest folder of the eqgame. go to the shortcut thats in the everquest folder and properties it and add the "patchme". run the shortcut while in the everquest folder and poof the crap boots up. get rid of the shortcut on your desktop because its not gonna do you much good if your getting the error. i hope this helps you all.

Default now that you mentioned it

i just saw that matt. reason i posted it was i was having the same problem. looked through all the threads and didn't find anyone with a sollution. was hoping that if anyone came across that problem they could find resolution instead of giving up all together, like i was about to do myself. sorry if the post was a bother.

If you have patch like the first post ("I patched with the doh patcher and now when I try to run it I get a black screen"), you don't read that :

"Titanium Now Supported - Do not patch to live; obtain Titanium if you need the client."

And your everquest don't work because you have patch.

If you don't patch, it wasn't the same problem.

Actually, he was correct. It is "a UI" because when one pronounces, "UI," phonetically, it is yoo-eye. So, would you say, "a yoo-eye," or would you say, "an yoo-eye?" It's not about the letters; it's about the phonetics.
