Login Server

I'm living in China mainland. me and my friends are frustration on EQEmu Login Server, since new LS changed, it's need try 10 more login to login to world server. someone waste time on login for 30+ minutes.

1, After input username & password, click Login, Display a dialog "Logging in to the server. Please wait...." only about 10% change display server select window. after amount 1 minute, if display "Error - A timeout occurred", can try again, otherwise EQGAME.EXE will crash if try.
2, It's have 80% change display a blank list on "SERVER SELECT" window.
3, Some time, server select list displayed. after click login, the expansions bar not stop, and display a message like "a error occurred while enter the server."

I read some post, it's said was my network problem. but my all friend are same problem on LS, if entered world server, it's not any problem, unless lag or LD.

I'm current play on a Chinese server named "Dragon Soul". I found if a NPC name contain a Chinese Character, some message will corrupted.
like this:
"someone crush on npc for 10 damage"
to
"someone crush on"
the message will cut on the first Chinese Character.
and NPC emote, shout will like this:
NPCname shout(or say):"ah"
to
shout(or say):"ah"

I set a EQEmu server on my PC, use PEQ database. can't display any Chinese Character, either use UTF-8 or GB2312 code.

any one known how to display Chinese correct? or any DBCS/MBCS?

Does Dragon Soul have their own forums for server support? Aside from your LS problem, EQEmulator.net cannot control what character set your server uses.

As for the eqgame.exe crash @ login server select, it's a known issue that we're trying to get resolved - but have not had much luck yet.

yes, we have our own forum. but it's only for player. never any EQEmu dev & support infomation.

The problem you are having with Chinese characters possibly cutting off phrases will need to be given to your server OPs or GMs.

We're still looking into the Login Server crashes issues. Search here for "eqgame.exe crash", you will find many posts about it, but no solutions :(
