Missing characters/Character Creation (Single Server Only Issue)
I was playing on the Pi server yesterday and attempted to zone into Permafrost. Client locked on zone load for a full 10 minutes so I alt-tabbed and closed EQ. Since then, I don't see any of my characters on the Character Select screen.
I try to create a new character and the name is rejected by the server.
I logged into my other account (which had no characters created on the server) and had the name rejected problem again.
I can still log into the rest of the emu servers with both accounts.
Any ideas? I searched the boards for a good hour and a half and I couldn't find anything related.
Launch an sql query browser and check the character table:
Code:
select * from character_
Does it return any rows? If not, your characters may be gone. I dont see how a crash could wipe your character table. But I guess it is a possibility...
Unfortunately, its not my db to check. I had happened across the Pi Emu server on the EQ Emu server select screen and was quite enjoying the content of the server.
I'll try a fresh install or another machine and see if either works. Something local may have gotten borked as I'm unable to create a character on an account that has never logged into the server.

sounds like the Pi sever database got borked not your client
I would tend to agree. Pi is missing from the server select screen as of last night and is still gone this morning. Unfortunate, as I was enjoying the custom content.
