I have been reading this site and forum for a bit now and I must say that it sounds very fun. However, if someone could explain a few things to me I would be thankful.

I understand that EQEmu is for making your own server. A few things I am not sure on:

1) If I make a server that I can play locally, by myself, would all of the mobs in EQ be up or would it be an empty world? For example, would I be able to run around just like on EQLive and see all the same things?

2) Do all the normal quests work?

3) Do the triggered spawns work (AoW etc)?

Or is it the GM of the server that has to spawn everything for you?

Thank you.

The emulator on its own comes empty of spawns.. You can go over to the world builder forum and pick up population databases..

None of it is really close to eqlive yet, drawdes stuff is all based on live, but alot of things arent in, but its really good on its own. Quests are being worked on, but the quest code is still fairly new, but all of that stuff has to be hand created. Normal quests work, but you have to add the scripts in yourself for them, until someone creates a bunch of quests and releases them to the general public. So basiclly, you can make most any quest you want, but it's content, not really anything to do with the emulator code itself.

Triggered spawns are not implemented yet.

Thank you Trump. Would you suggest playing on someone else's server prior to playing alone then?

And just to be sure...Since I have all the EQ patches at the moment I will not be able to run the Emu. Correct? Sorry for all the silly questions.
