Default Timeout error in Debian/Lenny (wine 0.9.57)

Hello,

I'm able to run eqgame.exe just fine, but after I log in, no servers show up. Also, about every minute an error dialog pops up, "Error - A timeout occurred".

I've successfully played the game with the same account on a Windows XP box so it's not an account issue.

Has anyone else experienced the same issue? Any fixes/ideas?

Thanks

If you installed from a distro, you probably have a firewall up too. The first thing to do is check and see if those ports needed by EQ are open on the firewall. If you're behind a router, then usually the router has its own firewall (unless you set it to DMZ), You can disable software firewall all together.
