Server Selection...

Ok So I finally made it to server selection... Woo! lol

But Now No Matter what Server I Pick, it Freezes and doesn't Load... Any Help mates?

Also It will freeze, sometimes it will crash back to desktop

Have you read the FAQ linked in my sig yet? It has a few suggestions to common issues. Your problem is probably either a multi-core CPU issue, vista issue, resolution issue or EQ version issue.

Well I have.

My copy of Everquest? = Legit... But I am Using the Everquest: Secrets of Faydwer...But I replaced a bunch of stuff with KingMort's EQ Extract for RaidAddicts anyways, didn't think it mattered much.

I can log into the Server Select screen, but when I try to connect, the screen goes black and then goes to the login screen again.
There are multiple reasons that could be causing this. Here are some of them:

ACCESS IS DENIED when I try to right click eqgame.exe and Set Affinity.. Even though this is not on a Vista nor do I have computer accounts, this is the main one.



You may need to adjust your Windows Desktop and/or your Everquest Resolution settings. - How to Do this?

It Didn't Ask Me to update My Drivers Either

Sound Card Is Fine

Doesn't help just connecting to Modem.

That is 100% the cause of your problem. It is extremely important that you only use a legal copy of Titanium to play EQEmu. That is why we stress that people ONLY use a fresh unpatched/modified version of EQ Titanium. Nothing else will work right now. And definitely a hacked up mixmatch of SoF and Raid Addicts files is going to fail miserably.

But, there may be some good news for you in the near future; I am currently working to get SoF functioning with EQEmu. There is still a lot of work to do, but it may be ready for servers to start beta testing it with their players soon. For now though, Titanium is your only option. Even when SoF is ready, only updated servers will be able to use it. So, while many servers may support SoF sometime soon, it may be a while before they all do. I don't have an ETA on when SoF will be ready for players, but many of the major systems are already worked out. It could be 2 weeks, it could be 2 months (or more or less of course). Though, even when SoF is ready for players to start beta testing it, there will still be more work needed to finalize it and get all of the functionality currently in Titanium EQEmu functioning for SoF.

Ahh interesting, it worked on my last computer for Raid Addicts, Oh well.

Ah I see, soon enogh then haha.

Imma rebuild my computer well then I'll buy me a copy of Titanium and try again, so I'll be back soon enough finally ready to play

It probably worked for Raid Addicts, because they used to use a modified version of the source that worked specifically with a special version of the EQ Files that they were illegally distributing. I believe that they recently moved to a more current version of the emulator that probably wasn't modified to work with that specific client version. If that is correct, they probably require Titanium just like any other server.

Ah interesting, never knew that, I'll have to catch up with Mortenson sometime I guess heh. They should of stayed then! lol
