Default Got a problem

Well, I just realized no one in my server can inspect and I've been trying to use merchants, but when I right-click on a merchant no window opens up. Any idea?

Is that when using SoF or the Titanium client? Really, both of those should work for both clients. Though, inspecting yeilds some funky results in SoF, but it does work. I just need to line up the inspect struct a bit better to make it look right. For merchants, the window opens and you can buy stuff, but selling stuff can cause problems.

If you are talking about SoF, there are certain things you can do that will cause the client to stop allowing most things like inspecting, opening merchants, and sometimes even opening the inventory window. There are still a few things that need to be worked out before this issue gets fully resolved. It is a known issue and happens when something is done that isn't completely working for SoF like trying to start a group. It is easy to correct the problem by zoning or relogging though.

Well I did a little bit of messing around, inspection doesn't seem to ever work with SoF client. and when I make a new merchant mob, and right click him, it won't let me open up trade with any other merchant in the zone, I'd have to repop

Are you running a windows server and using some older binaries? If you haven't updated in a couple of weeks, a ton has changed and continues to change almost daily. The best thing is to at least stay up to date with the windows binaries releases, and even better would be to update to the SVN source code, because that is normally a few releases newer than the binaries.

Also, you would want to do fairly regular updates, because things are still getting fixed regularly. Just keep an eye on the changelog on the SVN to see what is fixed and if it is worth updating to get it.

Oh and most importantly for your issue, I just realized that if you are having issues like that and have current server code, you almost certainly forgot to move your patch_SoF.conf file. Make sure that you move the patch_SoF.conf file from the /utils/ directory into your server directory. You have to do that with every update that updates that file or you will have certain things like the issues you are having happen. For now, it would probably be a good idea to move that over almost every time you update, as it is getting updated pretty frequently.
